2026 Spring Soccer Registration

At a certain point (on completion of elementary school), kids in Merritt age out of our current Merritt Youth Soccer Association structure, as we currently provide programming up to and including a child's Grade 7 year. If kids want to stay dedicated to their soccer path beyond this, options are a little more limited and include travel to larger centres to continue their soccer journey.  We believe we can contribute to this by providing more soccer opportunities locally, by developing alignment with coaching methodologies of larger soccer associations, and by increasing our focus on dedicated players. This will help in preparing our kids for the jump to larger, more competitive organizations.

WHAT THESE SESSIONS ARE FOR.........

The ways we have aimed to help soccer development is by bringing Soccer Camps back to Merritt. We have piloted some Indoor (futsal) soccer sessions through the winter, which got the ball at kids' feet in a smaller space with hundreds more touches than they get in conventional outdoor soccer.

WHO THESE SESSIONS ARE FOR.........

These sessions are for dedicated soccer players from 2013 to 2022 birth years.  The sessions are for children who love soccer and who are dedicated to their soccer journey. These sessions are for our kids who want more competition or who want to be part of our travel teams.  These sessions are for kids who will show up to every session, full of energy and ready to work hard and participate fully.

WHAT THESE SESSIONS WILL BE........

The sessions will start with a soccer-based warm-up, some soccer-based instruction, followed by game action.  We will have teams and will have at least a full hour of game action every session.  The games will follow proper FIFA/Canada Soccer small-sided rules.  The format will prepare them for universal game play at any level, in any community, and at any tournament they participate in.
